A gift and bribe

My mom and dad bought me a new laptop today. It's their gift to me for passing the comprehensive examination and at the same it's their bribe to make me start my thesis.
The unit was red Fox Wizbook N1020i and I love it.

Here's the specifications:

I love it!:)

Miracle of Life

My Mom and I were talking to Aye (our family dog) for days if it's time for her to deliver her babies. Saturday morning we noticed that she's in huge pain because she screamed and chilled the whole afternoon. If there's anyone who's excited for Aye's baby, of course, it's gonna be me.:P

Then, the time has come. 'Twas Saturday night at around 8pm when Aye, delivered her five healthy and cutie babies. It was amazing how our little dog turned out to be a mom. Imagine, even dog have instincts and have motherly love for their babies, 'twas really amazing. She just knew exactly what to do.

All of us were so happy for Aye, and we just can't believe that she's now a mom and my mom and dad are now grandparents.:P Perhaps, you understand why we all feel this way... it's because it's our first time to have a dog who delivered babies.:p

Pregnancy

I'm so excited, I can't wait to see the babies of our dog Aye.

I didn't expect she'll be pregnant at all having her locked in our home. My mom is vocal that she doesn't want Aye to be pregnant, but what can she do... it's all there! The babies will be born in few time. I'll hamper all her plans to abort Aye's babies. Hahaha! I know, I know, parang tao lang noh?!

Well, I'll give her more food than ever and I'll caress Aye more often now, so that she'll feel that she and her babies are loved by us. Time to spoil my lovey-dogey!

My Hone also told me that their dog Jopay (whom I call "SaSha") is also pregnant. Hahaha! Lotsa preggy dogs out here!

Oh well, just reminiscing look at this picture... Barney with Baby Aye:

... and now, our baby will become a mommy. Congrats, Aye!

A Break with Hone's Family

We went swimming with Hone's family in one of the resorts near their place. It wasn't as extravagant as the other resorts but it was a meaningful day with them.

Welcome to our family, Edward Cullen!

When our cat Gary died, a kitten arrived in our home. Just today, I decided to name him after the famous character in Stephenie Meyer's Saga- named the cat after Edward Cullen! Oh well, the kitty is just so lovable anyway and I can't resist the cat this time.

When I grow older, settle, have a family of my own, then my parents have aged, can no longer work for their own and they would be needing me to take care of them, I will take care of them- even if they become forgetful, even if they move too slow, even if they stink, even if all their hair have turned grey, even if they become useless and senseless... even if they become what very old people become. I will love them and take care of them. They are mine, my responsibility. I wouldn't count every bucks that I will spend for them. I wouldn't neglect them. They will be my responsibility, mine to have, mine to take. I wouldn't tell them that they are burden to me. I wouldn't hurt them. I wouldn’t get tired of taking care of them. I would just love them and tell them always how much I'm grateful to them rearing me wonderfully. I'll tell them always that I love them so much, next to God.
***
Why am I blogging this sad feeling? Because I witnessed one. Let me just briefly narrate that my mom took my lola here in our house to have a Holiday vacation, since she's been with her 2nd child for the longest time. She had Christmas and New Year with us. I'm not actually close to her 'coz I grew up without seeing my grandparents much. Yet in her stay with us this previous year’s holiday season, my compassion with her developed maybe because I've grown and matured... and maybe because of Michael. You know, he's close with old people. He would even massage my lola's arms and make her smile... and she in return just like and appreciate Michael so much.

My Lola- She bore 10 children in her entire life. She and her husband gave names to their children chronologically that started from R, S, T, U, V, W, X Y, Z and P (which means period or end of making children)- all of children have 2 years age gap. She used to live in province with her husband and migrated here in Manila/Bulacan for almost several years already. She has been a plain house wife all her life. I don’t know if she has been a good parent to her children, if she was able to give equal time to each and every child she had. I don’t know if she reared them up all well or if she hurt them badly when they’re still young. All I know is that most of her children became bread winners of their family even when they’re young. The children established themselves, not the parents established their children. I don’t know each and every story but I know my mom’s- she was a working student who managed to balance both her work and studies. She was able to finish her studies because of her perseverance that without which, she wouldn’t become what she is today- a professional teacher who has earned her doctorate degree.

My Lola is widowed for 3 years now and has just turned 79 years old last Christmas Eve.Then, this day came that we needed to bring her back to her 2nd Child. I don't want her to call "tita", I gave it up long time ago when she once messed up with my family here in our home one dark morning. I've forgiven her but as often said, "Wounds heal, but it leaves marks." Since then, I prefer calling her somebody else or by her first name. She ruined our once beautiful relationship to her like a glass that can never be returned the way it used to be. When we got to my lola's 2nd child's place, only my mom (the 3rd child) and tito (the 4th child of my lola) entered their house to talk to her about my lola going back to her side. You know what she said? Well, I might not be able to quote exactly what she spilled but this is the closest words I understand she uttered that made my lola cry like a child. "Hindi ko na tatangapin dito si Nanay, magastos siya, wala akong pera, hindi ko na siya maalagan. Kung bibigyan nyo ng Php, 2000 a month, cge, pero kung wala, hindi ko siya tatanggapin." That was really hurtful! I didn't hear her say those words but it's like... uhhhh... she's so bad. So what's her problem? Service na nga lang ang sa kanya, itinaboy nya pa ang magulang nya. Damn her! One day, she'll regret what she have done.

***
So we left, and just settled things. We decided to bring her home again even if busy people really lives our home. We took responsibility of her. The set-up was, my mom and dad will be taking care of her in the late afternoon and evenings, and I being on the night shift starting today, will be with her in the morning when I get home, though of course, I will sleep in the other room, at least, I'll still be there somehow. Her foods will just be placed on the table. Then, there would only be at least 2 hours gap when I leave the house and before my parents arrive. I saw how affected my lola was. She murmured all her heartaches that afternoon. It saddened me. I suddenly realized that, "It's not with the number of children you've had, but its with the quality of your children's attitude toward you once you've aged." It's better that I've been an only child all my life, at least, my parents are secured when they're old that I will be the only one who will take care of them. I have no one to turn them to. I won't do it anyway because I love them and I'm forever grateful that they've been an instrument to give me life.

To all the children out there, "Love your parents. It's a commandment sealed by God with a promise." A promise of a long and satisfying life.

Christmas 2008

It's the time of the year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. A beautiful prayer has been uttered by my dad at 12:00 am and I'm really thankful that God has blessed our family throughout the Year.

We had many foods on the table and I can't help but to compare our dining to the dining I saw in Junior's house. Of course, I do not want to reiterate that they are poor, what I want to reiterate is that our family received so many blessings and we should be thankful to God for bestowing us all these bountiful blessings. Without HIM, we're nothing.

It's great that some of my mom's relatives spent Christmas with us. It was a blessed Christmas. Thank you, lord for giving Jesus Christ to us. Jesus, Happy Birthday!:)

After a couple of hour, we all went to sleep for the morning's event. I set-up my alarm at 5:30am. God gave me a wonderful and enough sleep.

Woke up at 6:15 and I crammed 'coz I'm about to cook the Carbonara recipe of Kuya Alex. I had all the ingredients but I was not sure of what to do. I was really clueless. Anyway, I just started doing things like chopping the onions, garlic and carrots, boiling the chicken, pre-cook the bacon, etc, etc... I wasn't sure of what the outcome will be... 7:30 came, my Papa woke up, followed by my Mama. I was still in the kitchen, cooking. Lots of stuff to do. At 8:00, I was done, I asked them to taste it and they all agreed that it tasted good. I hoped they're telling the truth, 'coz that's the food I'm going to serve later for our meryenda.

I texted Hone to come immediately as we are bringing 2 cars.

***

When he arrived, we immediately, fueled our van and picked his parents in their house, then went back home to picked Kisha and Lola. Then, we proceeded in Elysian, our house in Bulacan.

***

When we got there, the house was closed and we didn't have the key. Good thing that just a few minutes, the caretaker of the house immediately arrived and opened the house for us. Soon after, my parents also arrived. It was mingle time for Michael and Mine's family. His parents were kind and soft-spoken. I know my parents liked them as well. Aside from the fact that they wanted someone to look after the house they also like the idea that they no longer have to pay for the caretaker, plus their relationship with Michael's family is being strengthened. I just pray that there will be no problems between them. They also ate my "carbonara", again, recipe of Kuya Alex. I'm glad they liked it, as well as the leche flan of Tingky, the cookies and brownies I've brought. They also brought my favorite spread- tuna spread. It was a fun Christmas Day with them.
***
We had our lunch in my Uncle's house. My cousins on my father side were there, together with their kids. Funny thing was when we arrived, they we're like confused as to why I was there-- haha, all along they thought I was already in UK. I told them, that's it's only in friendster and how I wish I'm already out of this country.
As usual, they prepared so many foods. Foods flooded. Stomachs full.
My inaanak, Jaya, have grown so fast, she's now a teen and I can't help reminisce the days when I still held her in my arms when she was a baby. Goodthing, I've altered my gift to her.:)
***
From there, the van and the other car splitted. Hone together with his family and my lola went home while mom and dad had to go somewhere else pa.
***
The day ended so well.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Let's celebrate for the savior is born!

25 Years of Love

My parents are celebrating their 25 years of Marriage. As their one and only child, I am so proud of them making it and reaching this height. I'm amazed how they hang on with each other with all the trials, problems, quarels, happy moments that they experienced. I am blessed to have them.

25 years is no joke. Out 10 who gets married, only 5 reaches their 25 years of being together. In the society today, there exists many broken homes because of divorce and separation. I have lots of friends whose parents are separated, and I need not to be on their shoes to feel the pain they have gone through in accepting the fact of separation or being a part of a broken family. I know it wasn't their choice nor they wanted it to happen in their own family. Only, it's just the way their parents handled their relationships.

I thank God so much for my parents' lives. I thank Him for blessing our family. Through the years, He was there with us, and bound our fmaily with the love that cannot be broken. I pray that my parents will have longer lives to share the kind of love that is so true and sincere. I pray to God that He may bless them with great health, more success and more wisdom. I pray that God may bless our family in all aspects as we continue to worship him as an intact family.

To My Mama & Papa: "I love you, both and I'm so proud of you!"

Quality Time

Arriving home from tedious work, I was surprised by my Dad. He said we'll watch a film tonight with Mom just right after the rice is cooked. The idea of spending time with them is so nice that I can't wait to see what will happen in the next few hours.

Amazed by the book I'm currently reading ("Rich Dad, Poor Dad"), I caught a conversation with my Dad regarding businesses and getting rich, I told him that I feel oneday, I'm going to be rich.;) I was absorbing the book too much, perhaps!

The rice got cooked. We left. I enjoyed the ride and converse with my Dad towards my Mom's school. I know we're spending a quality time together, which seldom happens because we're all busy in our jobs.

After picking up the light of our household, we then went in SM Fairview, bought foods and tickets. They chose to watch the movie "Sinking of Japan".Before we entered the movie house, we have not realized that Japanese don't speak in English until we were inside and heard Niponggo language. Meaning, we'll be reading the subtitle of the whole entire movie. Though, we were just right on time, I felt quite disappointed, thinking that I'll just get bored inside the movie house because I wouldn't be able to understand the movie nor see the subtitle because of the fact that I'm a legally blind person. So I decided, that I'll just enjoy the burger and fries and the popcorn inside even without understanding the film, at least I'm with my most loving parents and we're spending great time together.

Few scenes after we arrived, the movie finally got my attention. I then, forced my eyes to be able to see and read the subtitle flashed. It was a story about the country Japan that will sink in less than a year. It showed many lives that died in quakes from different areas in Japan. The government did all their best to at least save many lives that they can by sending the Japanese people in other countries such as France, US and China and they were about to do something else to save the remaining parts of the country by means of using an atomic bomb or something. I then realized that we have not chosen a wrong film. As the story unfolds, I enjoyed every single emotion that I was able to feel. I was able to relate in the story that God uses the things we least like to serve our purpose in living. This was shed to me by one of the characters who planned other things for himself and can start anew life in other country but ended sacrifing his life for the sake of the people dear to him and of the remaining lives. -The film taught me that "Some things mean more than life." Family is one. Purpose is another.

It just feel so great to learn something new again. Wonderful Day. Great movie. Perfect Time.

Happy Mother's Day

She's my Mama. From her I get my strength. She raised me so well together with my Papa. I think that God should have created more mothers like her loving, caring, firm, disciplinary, and who just directs the life of children properly. I'm not against other mothers who had their child pregnant or whose children became delinquent, it's just that I feel so blessed being reared by a wonderful person.

I love you, Ma!

Christmas 2006

That isn't our christmas tree. We don't have as beautiful as that but I could say that we had a very blessed and meaningful Christmas. Aside from the fact that my papa was released from the hospital which I am very much thankful to God.

We didn't prepared many foods for the Christmas Eve, we really had a simple Christmas. Perhaps, it's the simplest among all our previous christmases. I mentioned it is meaningful. Meaningful in the sense that I realized how God works, he can turn a stoned-heart into something so soft and gentle. I'm pertaining to the treatment of my mom to my Hone. At last! My mom and dad had already accepted him as my partner. He spent Christmas with us. It's our first Christmas together.

"I never thought that God will answer my prayer that fast. I really didn't expect it. I really cannot fathom God's infinite and exquisite wisdom. Thank you, Lord!"

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

What a day!

Today, Ellon and I together with Jhun, Maureen and JOseph visited COL. We've seen Ni and Mia again.. oh well! Reunion! And Mia introduced us to the Wave 4, who all admires Wave 3. Because Mia and Buthry are very proud of us since there are 11 trainees out of 14 shortlisted individuals who are now Sutherlanders. 7 from Pampanga and 4 from Manila. Thus, we really made name. Somehow, I miss our training days... learning from Mia and all the kalokohan and kakulitan that we did!.

In the afernoon, I went in AMA to request a Certificate of Employment and CLearance. Well, i've seen some colleagues and students. Things seem just the same. It's all the same since the day my contract ended. It's great that at least, there are still some people who remembers me, afterall!

At home, I spent quality time with my Papa... we played music and sounds... and he danced a lot! Fun... Fun... Fun...

I miss my honey so much!
