A gift and bribe

My mom and dad bought me a new laptop today. It's their gift to me for passing the comprehensive examination and at the same it's their bribe to make me start my thesis.
The unit was red Fox Wizbook N1020i and I love it.

Here's the specifications:

Christmas 2008

It's the time of the year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. A beautiful prayer has been uttered by my dad at 12:00 am and I'm really thankful that God has blessed our family throughout the Year.

We had many foods on the table and I can't help but to compare our dining to the dining I saw in Junior's house. Of course, I do not want to reiterate that they are poor, what I want to reiterate is that our family received so many blessings and we should be thankful to God for bestowing us all these bountiful blessings. Without HIM, we're nothing.

It's great that some of my mom's relatives spent Christmas with us. It was a blessed Christmas. Thank you, lord for giving Jesus Christ to us. Jesus, Happy Birthday!:)

After a couple of hour, we all went to sleep for the morning's event. I set-up my alarm at 5:30am. God gave me a wonderful and enough sleep.

Woke up at 6:15 and I crammed 'coz I'm about to cook the Carbonara recipe of Kuya Alex. I had all the ingredients but I was not sure of what to do. I was really clueless. Anyway, I just started doing things like chopping the onions, garlic and carrots, boiling the chicken, pre-cook the bacon, etc, etc... I wasn't sure of what the outcome will be... 7:30 came, my Papa woke up, followed by my Mama. I was still in the kitchen, cooking. Lots of stuff to do. At 8:00, I was done, I asked them to taste it and they all agreed that it tasted good. I hoped they're telling the truth, 'coz that's the food I'm going to serve later for our meryenda.

I texted Hone to come immediately as we are bringing 2 cars.

***

When he arrived, we immediately, fueled our van and picked his parents in their house, then went back home to picked Kisha and Lola. Then, we proceeded in Elysian, our house in Bulacan.

***

When we got there, the house was closed and we didn't have the key. Good thing that just a few minutes, the caretaker of the house immediately arrived and opened the house for us. Soon after, my parents also arrived. It was mingle time for Michael and Mine's family. His parents were kind and soft-spoken. I know my parents liked them as well. Aside from the fact that they wanted someone to look after the house they also like the idea that they no longer have to pay for the caretaker, plus their relationship with Michael's family is being strengthened. I just pray that there will be no problems between them. They also ate my "carbonara", again, recipe of Kuya Alex. I'm glad they liked it, as well as the leche flan of Tingky, the cookies and brownies I've brought. They also brought my favorite spread- tuna spread. It was a fun Christmas Day with them.
***
We had our lunch in my Uncle's house. My cousins on my father side were there, together with their kids. Funny thing was when we arrived, they we're like confused as to why I was there-- haha, all along they thought I was already in UK. I told them, that's it's only in friendster and how I wish I'm already out of this country.
As usual, they prepared so many foods. Foods flooded. Stomachs full.
My inaanak, Jaya, have grown so fast, she's now a teen and I can't help reminisce the days when I still held her in my arms when she was a baby. Goodthing, I've altered my gift to her.:)
***
From there, the van and the other car splitted. Hone together with his family and my lola went home while mom and dad had to go somewhere else pa.
***
The day ended so well.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Let's celebrate for the savior is born!

Unfair?

I claimed my classcards today, expecting a 4.00, a 3.5 and a 3.00.

Did I get everything I expect considering all the sleepless nights and sacrifes I had?

No.

I got no 4.00.

What I got were only one 3.5 and two 3.00.

Honestly, I think it wasn't fair for me.

I did the best that I can. My parents can prove that. My Hone as well.

If I wasn't able to get a 4.00, at least the other shouldn't be a 3.00 alone.

I feel disappointed as it ruined my standing.

I'm aiming to get an honor and it feels bad.

I mean, I'm doing the bests that I can... but why my efforts are not given back?

Today's maybe not just a good day! I could have even died because of the stupid bus. It's a long story that crumples my heart whenever I tell so I will not anymore.

I just thank God that He saved my life... thinking it over again, I'm still blessed, coz I'm given a chance to continue living and exert more effort in the next terms.

Lord, teach me to accept these things. It's really quite hard for me now, but with your help, I know I can.

Christmas 2007

I had a wonderful Christmas Eve. Prior to that, I just only realized why people would always want it to be Christmas... I just got the drift of why they say, "Sana laging Pasko". why would they wish for that? Here...

My Hone picked me up in the office at around 3pm. We dropped first in SM North to buy the few gifts that he havent bought for her inaanak and lola. Then, we went home. When we got home, I just prepared the things I needed to do and bring as we are supposed to give grocery items to my subject for Case Study last term.

When we arrived in Junior's house. I felt their heart's sadness. I noticed the dining table didn't had any food or drink. There was no one preparing food in the kitchen area for the Christmas Eve... the children were just stunned that we were there. I shook the hands of Junior's father and handed the groceries to Junior as well as my gift to him. Sadly, but it was a dry Christmas for them. My heart wanted to cry that moment, but tears won't fall.. as I needed to show strength for them... and hope... that God is still good in their lives.

I asked my Papa for some coins to be given to the children, I gave Junior's siblings coins and gave all that was left in my Papa's wallet... a fifty peso bill. They were all thankful for that small amount. That moment, I felt the joy in their hearts, I still wnated to burst into tears, but I can't. I still needed to show strength. On my peripheral vision, I saw my Mama, wiping her eyes, touched at the scene she saw. Then, we finally bid goodbye to the whole family and greeted them a very Merry Christmas.

We then left and stopped by a nearby water station. My Hone and I were singing "Days of Christmas" by Disney. Unfortunately, we don't know the entire song, we were only singing up to the 4th day of christmas. Arni and I were laughing so hard on the part when Donald Duck is being imitated by Hone. Sure I'll get a copy of the song's lyrics by tomorrow!

When we finally got home, Hone decided to go to his lola's house first and said he'll just pick us up when their party begins. So I just arranged the things that I needed to do, ate dinner and took my shower. In my mind, I was thinking of wearing my maong skirt.

When Myke picked us up. I wasn't that prepared then, so I wasn't able to bring the gelatin as well that I was supposed to bring and share. Well, it's okay... bawi nalnag ako next time. For sure, I'll be spending Christmases with Myke's family na rin naman for years and years and years...:)

It was fun to be with my Hone's relatives. I really liked the crunchy tofu and its sauce,,, hmmm... yummy! Oh well, I felt accepted by their family and it was great to be with them! Arni was able to collect several twenty-peso bills and gained friends like Mica, Given & Regina.

At aroud 11:10 pm, we went back home. Hone, borrowed Ahia Bhonn's motorcycle. sonner, Hone left. I prepared the foods for our Noche Buena.

The clock striked twelve, It's Christmas, Jesus was born at this very moment thousand of years ago. The Son of God is born... whose called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Ftaher & Prince of Peace.

Our family prayed together. It was lead by my father. We greeted Jesus a very Happy Birthday! Then, we sang a birthday song:) Funny thing was when Maryel woke up that eve and celebrated with us. There were many foods served on the table, it was a great feast. Then, we also had an exchanging ang opening of gifts. After that, I immediately went to my room and slept.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Ordinary day. Again, left alone. Mind occupied. Waiting something inside. Want to hear the gentle and soothing voice of a man. Mind from nowhere.

Ring... Ring... it was the phone. I walked towards where it is and answered, "Hello? Oh? Hah? Talaga!" then I felt my mind smiled. I felt I wanted to shout. I felt happy. I get backed to the person on line and asked, "E, ikaw? Ha? Bakit?." Silence. "Hay! Sayang. Ok ka lang? Promise ha, ok ka lang?! OO naman no, tawag ka pa din minsan ha?Ok. Babye. Thank you!"

Cellphone beeping. 1 Message Received. Open. Papa. "Nak, pasado ka sa exam."

I smiled. Chose reply. "Opo, thank you po."

I passed the LET. Next thing on my mind- Newspaper! I will buy a newspaper and see with my own eyes, my name listed.

I jumped and said, "Thank you, Lord, thank you!"

"Truly, God answer our prayers in HIS perfect time. He may answer YES, NO or WAIT. This prayer item of mine... GOD answered YES. Thank you, Lord. I bring back to you all the praise and glory"
